Where to stay in Boston and how to get to Gillette Stadium?
Aug 30, 2007 by krashe1313 | Posted in Boston
Hello,
Next weekend my girlfriend and I will be in Boston on vacation and to see Buffett in concert. I have been to Boston a combine of times visiting the Cambridge area to visit MIT, but other then Harvard Sq and the Freedom Trail, my instruction of Boston is very limited.
Does anyone have any reasonable rate recommendations of places to stay inseparable to the metro stops, things we should see, eat and what is the best way to get to Gillette Stadium (I'm not sure if the metro travels that far and how modern development it runs).
Thank you!
Chris
Also, we are flying in. Not sure if that helps with the answers, but there it is!
Anywhere in Boston is affluent to be expensive. It depends on what kind of hotel you are looking at. There are some less expensive hotels but they look variety of divy. There is one in Cambridge near the Alewife T station. It looks cheap but I'm sure it's not.
If you like Italian bread then I recommend eating in the North End. My favorite place is Al Dente. It's reasonable and the food is excellent. It's a little crowded in there but it's ok. I do not recommend Mother Anna's. I didn't like it but you can eat outside there and my mollify liked what he ordered. I had a bug in my salad. The server said the dressing was terrific and I found it to be quite humdrum. What I ordered was ok but not what I expected in the North End. I've been to quite a few places there and of all I like Al Dente the best.
Bertucci's is in reality good if you want a chain restaurant. It's Italian. I don't really know any non-Italian restaurants. McCormicks which is a seafood restaurant is imagined to be wonderful and that is over in the Fanieul Hall/Quincy Marketplace area, within walking distance to the North End.
Gillette Coliseum is in Foxboro, MA, which is outside of Boston, about 40 minutes if memory serves correct. It's south on I-495. You wouldn't be far from Fate and that is a nice city. They have made some improvements. You might want to consider hanging out there if there is time.
If you do go to Boston then I also advise Salem, MA. It is a beautiful city and there is much to see if you are a history and literature fan. It's a coastal city. It's north of Boston. You can take a ferry there from Boston. If you can, I would interruption out of Boston but it depends on how you plan to get around. It's pretty easy to drive to a T-station and park. You can take the T around Boston. It's not at the end of the day worth driving in unless you are with a group. I hope some of this helps. Enjoy your trip!

If you like Italian chow then I recommend eating in the North End. My favorite place is Al Dente. It's reasonable and the food is right on. It's a little crowded in there but it's ok. I do not recommend Mother Anna's. I didn't like it but you can eat outside there and my husband liked what he ordered. I had a bug in my salad. The server said the dressing was terrific and I found it to be honestly ordinary. What I ordered was ok but not what I expected in the North End. I've been to quite a few places there and of all I like Al Dente the most suitable.
